VALENTINE'S DAY LEFT YOU FEELING UNINSPIRED? TRY DR. SKETCHY'S DRAGLOVE

Oh, Valentine's Day. Whether you're single or in a couple, it's always a dilemma. If you're in a couple, chances are you'll end up like this:

(thanks [xkcd]

and then if you're single, you've got umpteen different 'bitter and alone' parties to choose from, or you could bite the bullet and spill the beans like this:

(Thanks again xkcd.)

Luckily, Dr. Sketchy (who I'm not sure is even a real doctor, but still) has a solution. Get yourself down to 390 (390 Panyu lu nr Fahuazhen Lu) on the 15th and 16th with your art supplies in tow and get ready to draw. Get ready in particular to draw one Pearl Fauxnoir - winner of 390's recent Drag Queen Competition and solo model for this session.

Pearl will be appearing in various stages of undress and fabulous costumery throughout the evening. Attendees will drink, sketch, and if they are particularly lucky, win fabulous prizes. Dr. Sketchy's is a worldwide Anti-Art School (check out our piece on it here) and encourages everyone to get involved in figure drawing in a body-positive, art-positive way. It's attended by everyone from professional illustrators (not me) to people who just like to go nuts with crayons (me).

The whole event includes two drawing sessions on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February, with an afterparty on Saturday that has free entry for anyone turning up in drag.

Portraits of Pearl Fauxnoir by Rachel Gouk will also be auctioned to raise money for Shanghai Pride. It looks like it will be quite the Shebang my friends, QUITE THE SHEBANG.
