Metal Postcard Records CD Artwork Competition!
Based in Hong Kong, but representing artists worldwide, Metal Postcard Records are responsible for releases by Cambodian Space Project (err, Cambodia), Ollo (Australia), Swoop Swoop (US), Shanghai's own Pairs and many more. We've previously interviewed main man Sean Hocking, and sampled his wares in the form of S247 Mix Series #14 featuring some favourite tracks from his Hong Kong Garden Radio Show.
Having kept in contact with Sean and had a small part to play in this next project, we're very excited to be able to announce the following:
Metal Postcard Records is to release in 2012 a double CD featuring the best of China's new underground sounds spanning the last 18 months - 2 years AS SELECTED BY METAL POSTCARD and HONG KONG GARDEN RADIO SHOW.
CD 1 will be Rock/Alt/Indie
CD 2 will be Dance/Electronic
Both CDs are unmixed.
The CD will be sold into the UK/ USA & Australian indie music scene via record stores and outlets; it will also receive a worldwide digital release.
Metal postcard will be using PR agents to push the release and promo CDs will be going out to over 500 music magazines, radio shows, blogs etc. as selected by Metal Postcard.
Metal Postcard is looking for a talented young artist or designer working in the Chinese scene to create the front cover CD artwork with a design that is current and explains simply to Chinese and non-Chinese purchasers that this represents the best and brightest of China's new underground music scene. The cover should say something about China's alternative arts culture now.
The winner will receive:
Full credits and photograph on the CD artwork
A copy of each release in the Metal Postcard catalogue
x10 copies of the China Comp CD
+ A small cash prize
