Tzu Li (aka Huashan Unit) of Huashan Records continues on his quest to bring unsigned Chinese producers to the world's attention. Here's what he has to say about it:
Our second release is the 'Work It Out' EP by DJ Doggy, a son of the Anhui province. Doggy's style is very much influenced by his long deejay gigs in the night clubs of Shanghai and the music of Chicago and Detroit. He is also now the one who will represent the label on the decks!
'Work it out' is your perfect friday night work out.
'Arabian Nights' is a call from distant Xinjiang, a call for peace and unity.
'Lonely' is alone on this EP representing slow moving grooves
'Law' is here to bring back some order on those messy dancefloors.
Mingyu Sheh aka DJ Doggy is a Shanghai-based electronic music DJ & producer, born in Wuhu, Anhui Province, bt grew up in Guangdong Province.
He has been passionate about music ever since he was little. His first experience as the school DJ in college led him to pursue DJing as a career. As Doggy is an open minded person who resents musical limits, he doesn't want to be limited to one style. In 2005, he formed the local Shanghai Breaks DJ group 'Qingtuan', with fellow DJ and friend, Chase Wang. DJ Doggy had established himself as a distinct and inspirational voice in the Shanghai underground music scene. At this time he also started to work on production; his deep, emotional and groovy sounds is getting more and more attention from various electronic music labels.
