So my day started real well – I crawled out of bed half an hour before my early morning flight was due to leave. Plonker. Which in turn meant I have missed my connecting flight (as in the only goddam flight) to Hyderabad tonight so I am stuck in a typically dull and ridiculously overpriced hotel in Singapore. Well stocked mini bar though so all is not lost.
When I was more or less bullied in to writing this blog I decided I was going to write about general stuff and stay away from talking about specific bands and such – Mr Best does that way better than I could. But I am going to change my mind about that a whole three posts along, go me and my sticking to principles. Or something.
Anyway, as some of you would no doubt be aware Androsace have been a little busy last couple of months releasing CDs, getting married (well one of them – they like each other I am sure but not that much), doing an impression of the Pope at YYT and booking a really cool number of out of town gigs. To promote that they decided to use all that video footage they have been collecting over the past year or so and chop it all up in to a 40 second promo video – sort of a digital flyer if you like. Good idea, if you’re going to trundle off to places you haven’t been to before chucking together something like this is pretty important and really goddam easy. Assuming you have the tools of course but this is China and last time I checked my local DVD shop still seems to be getting those amazing discounts from various studios and software companies. Goodness knows how they do that, I can’t get volume discounts anywhere near that level, I guess they have very close relationships with major suppliers or something. Or ask someone to do it for you – echoing Ivan’s comments elsewhere on this site (or one of the moon tyrants anyway) – there are plenty of people willing to help or offer advice so just ask – the worst anyone can say is “no” and that is pretty unlikely.
Finally – take a look at the cities that Androsace are going to, some of them are new to me although I don’t claim to be a 21st Century Marco Polo so no surprises there. That’s pretty cool I think, sure, Beijing is the place to go but there are scenes all over China and dare I say it – Shanghai bands are a pretty big draw. I say that based on my usual level or research of course – exactly none. Hey – if you want facts Wikipedia is good for that. Point being it’s good to see bands from Shanghai out and about spreading the word (and yeah, I realise plenty of others have done so previously but I wasn’t writing rubbish then) that despite the challenges here this is a vibrant and exciting scene and there are some kick-arse bands floating about.
我这一天开始的也真是太好了——临早班飞机起飞前半小时起的床。Plonker. 这也就意味着我已经错过了今晚的唯一一班飞往海德拉巴的中转航班，之后又不得不在新加坡一家极其沉闷且价格超贵的酒店度过。总算还好有一家小酒吧，东西倒也算一应俱全。
当或多说少有些强迫自己写这篇博文的时候，我决定这次写点儿普通的，不聊乐队也不说诸如——Mr Best 总比我做的好此类的话。 但之后就整体来看这三个方面，我想会改观不少，去他的自我，去他的原则。或者还有其他。
不管怎样， 应该肯定有人注意到了，最近几个月点地梅乐队（Androsace）很是忙碌，发CD，办婚礼（很优秀的一位乐队成员——我肯定他们互相喜欢着对方），在育音堂演出教皇印象还计划了多次的地方巡演。为次， 他们还搜集了过去一年多来曾拍摄的所有视频片段剪辑成一段40 秒的推广短片——如果你喜欢的话可以当它是类似电子传单之类的。

这其实是个很好的主意，如果你也计划着去一些之前没有到过的地方，像这样的方式也不赖而且非常简单。但这是在中国，就算有工具中间差价也不少， 上次我问过DVD唱片店似乎还是可以从各种工作室和软件公司拿到很大一部分折扣的。天知道他们是怎样做到的，但估计我是不可能拿到这个批发价的，他们应该是和供应商交情匪浅吧。或者也可以让谁帮个忙——回复一下本网站上Ivan的评论（再或者回复Moon Tyrant 某位成员 也行 ）——很多人都非常乐意帮忙，所以尽管问——最坏也就是回答“不行”，但显然这并不像他们的风格。
最后——盘点一下点地梅乐队（Androsace）将要去巡演的地方，虽然并不曾想成为21世纪的马可波罗也没什么惊喜，但其中一些城市对我来说确实是首次触及。几乎遍布全中国的大好景色，北京也是其中一站而且我敢说——上海的乐队无疑也是其中一幅美丽画卷。 以上纯属个人判断和调查研究（当然，调研报告尚无）。 没关系——如果你想知道事实，可以上维基百科查一下。但重点是我们看到乐队正在走出上海，影响力日趋增大（当然，之前已经有很多人介绍过这部分，在此就不多说了）尽管面对艰巨的挑战，目前乐队的发展依旧积极向上，潜力乐队日趋涌现。
