All the way through Moganshan Lu, walls covered with graffiti lead up to M50, the blossoming centre of the Shanghai art scene. As the most established art district in Shanghai, this area is home to a huge variety of Shanghai’s art galleries and studios of both contemporary Chinese and international artists. M50 is a demonstration of the importance arts have taken in China, and attracts tourists as well as citizens of Shanghai. Located next to Suzhou Creek, and tucked away from the skyscrapers and noisy streets of Shanghai, M50‘s galleries are hosted in small buildings, creating a warm and tranquil atmosphere. A trip down here, especially on a sunny day, will always be rewarding and worth your while.
